Last week's cryptic question
Experiments involving an infinite fourth dimension, a trapped animal, a Franz Kafka novel, moving dirt and a potential storm may attract complaints from whom?
Gary Richmond, Alex & Maria Hughes and Ian Harrison managed to work out the character at the centre of this one.
See the answer
The complaints would come from Victor Meldrew, as they link to titles of One Foot In The Grave episodes. The episodes involved were all experimental in one way or another.
An infinite fourth dimension is a clue to Timeless Time, which is set entirely in the Meldrew's bedroom.
The trapped animal is The Beast in the Cage, set solely in the Meldrew's car in the middle of a traffic jam.
The Kafka novel is The Trial, in which Victor is the only character in the entire episode.
Moving dirt hints to Rearranging the Dust, an episode set only in a waiting room in a solicitors officer.
And a potential storm references Threatening Weather, an episode set almost entirely in darkness, taking place during a power cut on the hottest night of the year.
