Anna Barbara Films Script Call

Anna Barbara Films is currently looking for feature-length rom-com screenplays and completed comedy television pilot scripts (any sub-genre of comedy) with the aim of developing, optioning, packaging and pitching to broadcasters (TV) and financiers (Film) both in the UK and US.

The production company has teamed up with BCG Pro to find the right completed scripts for them. They will review all submissions made via our platform, with a view to developing up to ten projects.

Anna Barbara Films is a full-service production company that has produced feature films, television shows, and commercials. Commercial clients include Mozilla Firefox, Transfer Wise, Best Western, BAFTA and O2, to name a few.

Anna Barbara is perhaps most notable for its work producing and directing rom-com feature films. Its first film, Love Possibly, won over 60 awards in festivals worldwide, premiering at the prestigious Raindance Film Festival, and being awarded Best International Feature in Catalina Film Festival. Their latest rom-com, How to Make Her Cheat, is currently in post-production and is due to be released later in 2022, and stars Monty Python veteran John Cleese, British television personality Megan McKenna, and Oscar nominated actor Eric Roberts.

Want to work with the company to develop your project? Then submit your script now, alongside any additional supporting material and a short paragraph that tells them why you want to tell this particular story.

If you have a treatment or story/series bible alongside your script, you are welcome to submit these documents. However, please note, the Anna Barbara Films team cannot accept submissions based purely on an idea or treatment.

If submitting a TV pilot, the team will read all sub-genres of comedy (comedy/drama, rom-com, comedy/horror etc).

If submitting a feature-length screenplay, please ensure it neatly fits into the rom-com genre.

The deadline to enter is 23:59 BST on Sunday 31st July 2022.
