The service will record four specials over the next month, to put on its platform later this year. The acts involved are:
Tom Stade
Described as 'Part Jesus, part Charlie Manson' by The Herald, Tom Stade is breaking up his 2019 tour with a two night visit to The Leicester Square Theatre. NextUp will record his 24th May performance.
Archie Maddocks
The biting yet heartfelt Matchsticks show created and performed by Archie Maddocks will be recorded at the Angel Comedy Club on 5th June.
Sarah Callaghan
Sarah Callaghan's The Ballad of Sarah Callaghan, an eclectic mix of comedy and poetry, will also be recorded at Angel's The Bill Murray on 5th May.
Joe Sutherland
NextUp's cameras will also be at Joe Sutherland's final performance of his sell out show Toxic. It takes place at The Glory in Dalston on 24th June.
Co-founder Sarah Henley says: "This is our last tranche of filming prior to the Edinburgh Fringe this year and we're delighted to be recording this fantastic range of shows which truly reflects the NextUp's ambitions - excellence alongside variety."
NextUp is available on iOS, Android, web, Fire TV, Apple TV, Chromecast, Airplay, Roku and Amazon Channels. It costs £4.99 per month with a 7 day free trial. nextupcomedy.com
The company also announced today that USA-based Grey Griffin's debut stand-up show My First Comedy Special will be added to the platform this week.
NextUp recently launched The Grapevine Bursary to increase diversity on the platform. Acts of colour, or comedians who identify as female or non-binary, are encouraged to apply for the bursary, which offers funding towards production costs of filming a show.
