Laughing Horse New Act 2014 competition entry form

Laughing Horse New Act Of The Year 2014

The entry form for the Laughing Horse New Act of the Year 2014 stand-up competition is now available.

The contest is one of the most notable new talent competitions in the UK. Having run since 2001, it counts Greg Davies and Russell Kane amongst its previous winners, with other notable finalists including Jack Whitehall, Rhod Gilbert and Nina Conti.

This time the heats have been moved to later in the year, and the prize pot boosted to over £2,500 thanks to sponsors WeGotTickets. Aside from the valuable exposure to the industry and being able to add a boastful line to the CV, the main winner will take home £1000, a trophy and some paid gig bookings too.

Heats for the 2014 competition run from August through to the end of October in the cities of London, Edinburgh, Brighton, Manchester and Cambridge. The semi-finals will be in London at the start of November and the final will be held on the 30th November at The Dogstar in Brixton.

To enter, you must be a 'new act' (which is generally defined as someone who is not regularly being paid to perform at gigs). If accepted, you'll be invited to perform 4 minutes of original material in one of the heats.

To enter, read the rules and then fill out the entry form on laughinghorsecomedy.co.uk
