Juggling comedy writing with a paid job

Thinking about trying to juggle a part-time or full-time job with a career in comedy writing? We're not going to lie, it's a tough route to take, but then again, anything worth doing often is.

It's a frustrating fact of life that comedy writing will rarely pay enough on its own for you to survive on, let alone live a normal, ordinary, 'few wines at the weekend', 'couple of holidays a year', 'nice outfit once in a while' life.
