The case for improv

The country is full of improv groups, of various standards, from student troupes to professionals, and you are sure to find one fairly close to you.

For many of us, the thought of getting onto a stage and trying to be funny on the spot is the stuff of nightmares. But, for comedy creators, it can be a very worthwhile experience.

Of course, not everyone is a natural improviser. There are many great comedy writers who, whilst capable of crafting wonderfully funny material, do not have the correct temperament for performing on a stage.

But comic improvisation is the sort...
