In comedy writing, proper explanations are key
"Why did you do that?"
"Just because."
This is not a satisfactory answer - in life, or in a script.
The "because" does not need to be complicated: but it needs to be internally logical (within character) and believable (within the context of your show).
Once you have worked out why...
