Formatting dialogue
We often see scripts from new writers where the dialogue is not properly laid out.
If you are entering either our Writing Award or our Expectation 10-Page Call Out, getting this aspect of your script right is important.
You might be surprised by some of the mistakes we regularly see.
Different names being used through out the script to designate the same character. Dialogue wrapped in speech marks. Dialogue that isn't punctuated at all. Character names followed by hyphens (instead of colons, or, more properly in software like Final Draft, nothing at all).
