Do I need a degree?
It's a question we hear a lot, particularly from newer creatives: what qualifications do I need to succeed in the British comedy industry? Do I, for instance, need a degree in a particular subject?
We're not here to pour scorn on either universities in general or certain courses in particular.
The reality is, most - but by no means all - people entering the comedy industry in 2024 have a degree.
That said, their degree may not be in any way related to the industry. They might have a degree in Biology or Law or English, rather than a degree...
