Chris Head on writing jokes: implication
A writer I coach in my one-to-one Zoom sessions has a script with a TV channel. The commissioners like the premise and the story but have returned to him requesting a rewrite "with far more gags".
How do you add jokes to a script? I will write a series of three short columns giving ideas for jokes in scripts. There'll be one a month, building up to the release of my new book, The Complete Comedy Script Toolkit, which has an entire, detailed, practical chapter on writing jokes in scripts.
Here's the first one. Enjoy and have fun writing jokes...

Chris Head - The Complete Comedy Script Toolkit
The Complete Comedy Script Toolkit is a highly practical and inspiring collection of creative tools for funnier sitcoms, comedy dramas, sketches, short films, and screenplays. It's also for you if you're writing anything else humorous, like plays, short stories, or novels.
Based on his twenty-five years (and counting) of working with writers and comedians as a coach, mentor and director, Chris Head knows what tools to give you to make your comedy better, sharper and, above all, funnier.
If you're writing comedy, this is the book you need.
