A matter of character

We know that characters are the beating heart of a sitcom. They are the catalyst for everything - every story, every scene, and every joke.
They're also a writer's greatest resource when things aren't going as well as they might.
Difficulties will always arise - it's in the nature of comedy writing. As James Cary - Bluestone 42, Think The Unthinkable, Be Lucky - puts it,
