'I Feel Like I'm Made of Spiders' explores the concept of dissociation, which is described in the show as feeling like you're underwater. This, combined with the influence of the thematic logline being 'the choiceless hope in grief' - a lyric from Hozier's album, "Wasteland, Baby", which featured underwater album artwork.
Amy Matthews and Felicity Crawshaw then hired the beautiful Victorian bathhouse, Drumsheugh Baths in Dean Village, Edinburgh, where for 90 minutes Amy free-dived to the bottom of the pool and Felicity photographed her.
Amy recalls the 5am photoshoot:
"The most challenging bit is swimming to the bottom and then having to let all of the air out of your lungs, else they act as buoyancy aids, so just as your body is totally out of oxygen, you need to open your eyes, open your mouth, pose and look demure. Knackering."
The final image was decided on because the way the textiles and body moved in the water at that moment looked the most spidery.
William Andrews then honoured the minimalist design brief and made the poster the haunting, striking image it is in the final edit.
