I envisioned the top of my head peeking out of the water like an iceberg, though I realise I may have unconsciously stole this image from Thundercat's 'Drunk' album (which itself was inspired by a picture of tragic funk bass icon Jaco Pastorius). However, I couldn't really be bothered setting all that up, so I figured the simplest and laziest option would be just to crop my face in front of a blue background and voila, I had myself an iceberg.
I sent the picture I took of my own face to my photographer friends Ian and David who told me to hold a bit of paper next to my face "to fill out the shadows a bit". I hadn't a clue what this meant and assumed it was a big practical joke like "get tartan paint" or "spend another day on this earth" but I did it anyway, and sure enough it looked much better.
I'm quite happy with how it's all turned out. Consistent font, simple colour scheme, essential information - and it cost me the grand sum of ride all.
And, frankly, I should be awarded bonus points for not scrapping the whole thing and retrospectively making my iceberg-based poster needlessly and submarinally topical...
