The show is one big game with the audience, Jack is out to see how daft you can take it. The poster is meant to reflect the idea of balance and jeopardy, the risk of falling off the edge into the realm of too silly. But it came about quite by chance. Photographer Andy Hollingworth just wanted to balance something on Jack's head, but nothing would stay put. He had a rummage through some props and found an old bird's nest, no birds were evicted. For the poster, they experimented with various literal takes on the tightrope metaphor, but Andy kept coming back to this photo. Designer Okse immediately wanted to fill it with "mini-Jacks" and used a variety of Andy's portraits to reflect how Jack bounces between different kinds of joke, all nestling within the same basket of daftness.
