Writer

Vicky Richards is a London-based editor and emerging writer originally from Shropshire. She has tried her hand at most forms of comedy - writing novels and sitcoms as well as sketches and oneliners.

Her radio work includes credits across a variety of BBC shows including Breaking the News and DMs are Open, and she has been in the writer's room for The Now Show and The News Quiz. She is a regular contributor to satire publications Reductress and The Daily Mash, with work also featured on TV show Late Night Mash.

Although a relative newcomer to stand up, she was named West End New Act of the Year: One to Watch and has gigged at nights run by Angel Comedy and Funny Women. Her other writing includes her first full length play The Lucky Paradox, which reached the top 12% of BBC Writersroom submissions in 2022 and drama pilot Blood Ties, the first 20 pages of which were shortlisted for the Voices of the Future competition run by screenwriter Alannah Olivia in 2021.

In 2022, she completed her first novel for children, developed on the WriteMentor Summer Mentoring Scheme, which is currently on submission to agents. Future projects include two sitcoms in the process of being finalised, and anything else that might come her way!
