Dracula! (Mr Swallow - the Musical) review

Nick Mohammed's show has had a slight change of title since it debuted at the Edinburgh Fringe last year, where it was called Mr Swallow - the Musical, and garnered warm reviews for its shambolic silliness.

Asylum, BBC Four

Clever political satire inspired by Julian Assange.

Review: Peter Kay's Phoenix Nights, Manchester Arena

Due to unfortunate circumstances I am unable to give a star rating to this show; 15 minutes into the second half a cast member collapsed on stage and the performance was cancelled. At the time of posting Ted Robbins, in a stable condition, and we wish him a speedy recovery. I can of course write about what I did see, and much of it was great fun.

Miranda review

Miranda has divided critics and viewers alike - some have loved its old-fashioned, often broad humour, while others have hated its cosiness and repetition of the same few gags. Whichever your view, it was inoffensive fun and, as Miranda said in the finale, "Life needs a little jollifying at times."

Best of 2014: comedy

It may not have been the most stellar year for comedy at the Edinburgh Fringe, but 2014 was made memorable not just by a long-awaited reunion, but also by witnessing a fine solo debut of a performer we're more used to seeing as part of a terrific double act. It was fun, too, to see the development of talented live performers - some newbies, another continuing to find her voice after a few years in the business. And lastly for seeing others keeping on doing what they do very, very well.

Dara O Briain review

As the show nears its end, he gives a précis of his interaction with the audience during the evening. It's a trick he's been doing for some years now, but it's still an astonishing skill to see done so well as he mines even more jokes out of what has transpired earlier. A master at work.

Review: John Bishop, touring

He's not a great gagsmith, but occasionally turns a nice phrase.

Jim Davidson, Sands Centre, Carlisle

Terrific gagmeister who delights in giving offence.
