The Unfriend review

Headed by new faces Lee Mack and Sarah Alexander, a refreshed cast for The Unfriend has now been unwrapped and let loose on this comedy but it is still one of the biggest headscratchers in the West End.

The Unfriend review

If you're looking for a few easy laughs and want to switch off for a couple of hours then head on down to the Wyndham's. Ultimately though, The Unfriend brings us nothing new. The cast are limited by a script that gives them no room to play.

Eliza Harris, West End Best Friend, 10th January 2024

The Unfriend review

The Unfriend makes for an enjoyable night out, especially for fans of the cast members who want to see them in a familiar role.

Rachel Creeger, Funny Women, 10th January 2024

The Unfriend review

This isn't a show with any claims to substance, character development or insight on the world. It is simply a light, frothy, undemanding slice of West End escapism.

Keith Mckenna, British Theatre Guide, 10th January 2024

British Comedy Guide, 17th November 2023

The Unfriend review

Sharp, witty and quick - this play will keep you on your toes laughing full belly laughs as the British ludicrousness plays out on stage.

Tabitha James, A Young(ish) Perspective, 24th January 2023

The Unfriend review

Moffat and Gatiss have delivered an audience pleaser, skewering one aspect of British behaviour in a tale that might have a violent ending. A warning too: think twice when you are on holiday!

Howard Loxton, British Theatre Guide, 23rd January 2023

The Unfriend review

The Unfriend feels like traditional West End fare. Whereas Inside No. 9 pushes boundaries, this reinforces them. But if you want an episode that definitely won't give you nightmares this does hit the spot.

Bruce Dessau, Beyond The Joke, 23rd January 2023

The Unfriend, Criterion Theatre review

Steven Moffat and Mark Gatiss's collaboration somehow forgets about the laughs.

Laura De Lisle, The Arts Desk, 21st January 2023

The Unfriend review

Steven Moffat's house guest comedy is lazy and unfunny.
