Count Arthur Strong's Command Performance

Count Arthur Strong, showbiz legend and raconteur, returns to the stage to remind us just what we've been missing... so get your Maltesers out, roll your trouser legs up and sit back and enjoy this wonderful show. Arthur is ably assisted in the Command Performance by Terry Kilkelly playing Malcolm and Renee, and Dave Plimmer as Alan Leslie.

Steve Delaney created Count Arthur Strong whilst studying at the Central School of Speech and Drama in the 1980s. During his career as an actor he recreated the character for an outing at the Edinburgh Fringe in the mid 90s. The character quickly became an Edinburgh Festival Fringe institution with his famed lecture talks gaining both a cult following and huge critical acclaim.

The character moved onto BBC Radio 4 for Count Arthur Strong's Radio Show!, winning the Sony Award for Best Radio Comedy in 2009. After seven radio series, Count Arthur made his televisual debut, initially on BBC2 (winning two BAFTA nominations along the way) before moving to BBC1.

First released: Friday 17th February 2017

Not in the UK?

Fear not! Many items can still be ordered. Amazon in the UK delivers to many international territories, whilst their Australia, USA and Canada stores also supply many equivalent or imported items.

If you are in the North America, look out for US/Canadian flag icons on popular product listings for direct links.

If you order from a UK store, please note that the UK is in Region 2 and B, respectively, for DVDs and Blu-rays - check your player's compatibility, or look for multi-region products if you are located in another region.

If you are in Australia or New Zealand (DVD Region 4), note that almost all DVDs distributed in the UK by the BBC and 2entertain are encoded for both Region 2 and Region 4. The UK and Australasia are in the same Blu-ray region (B).
