Individually, Tom Basden, Stefan Golaszewski, Tim Key and Lloyd Woolf have caused quite a stir on the live comedy circuit, and their shared love of deadpan, absurd and irreverent humour shines out in this inventive, enjoyable and subtle sketch show. Particularly pertinent highlights include a middle-class game of Russian roulette where adhering to the rules is paramount, and a job seeker whose only aim is to become Mick Hucknall's PA.

Another chance to catch the under-the-radar 2003 sitcom from Phil Mealey and long-term Caroline Aherne collaborator Craig Cash, which centred around the comings and goings of a Manchester pub. Naturalistically played, subtle and well worth sticking with.

An irreverent new sitcom that's beautiful in its simplicity. Hapless nonentity Rob suddenly finds his girlfriend has rather ludicrously run off with Duncan from Blue - so he spends every moment plotting vengeance, which he plans to exact, as is every wronged lover's wont, at the happy couple's impending wedding.

Persuading some Olympic-standard totty to be his first date for the big day is deemed to be the answer, though pop prince charming Duncan - the real-life Duncan James getting a hearty cheer from us for sending himself up so splendidly - seems to get the upper hand.

Smooth-voiced comedy wizard Peter Serafinowicz first cast a spell on us in the excellent and under-appreciated Tomorrow's World spoof Look Around You. But he's more than capable of carrying proceedings on his own, as this festive outing of his immersive sketch show proves. Inept inventor/salesman Brian Butterfield, here hawking his 'Christmas pizza', is a delight as ever, and impressions of Terry Wogan and David Attenborough veer dangerously close to genius.
