Some rules for writing comedy that are not really rules

Recently I was asked to be the woman one on a panel of comedy writers, at a lovely literary festival in Oxfordshire. Being massively unqualified compared to the multiple Bafta-winners on the dais (there's a funny word. Dais.) I bought along sweaty stack of hints I find useful when writing, some nuts and bolts stuff.
