Born in Dagenham, Essex, Sara Pascoe is an English writer, comedian and actor, best known for appearances on TV comedy programmes such as 8 Out Of 10 Cats Does Countdown and for stand-up shows such as LadsLadsLads.

Pascoe read English at the University of Sussex, where she befriended fellow British comic Cariad Lloyd, and after graduating began work as an actor. She began performing stand-up comedy in 2007, and took her first full-length show to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in 2010, entitled Sara Pascoe Vs Her Ego. After a series of appearances on British comedy shows such as Live At The Apollo and QI, including one episode in 2013 that she won with +28 points, she toured her first Edinburgh Fringe show in 2014, entitled Sara Pascoe Vs History. This was nominated for the Foster's Edinburgh Comedy Award 2014 for Best Comedy Show.

She is known for her collaborations with comedian Frankie Boyle, appearing in Frankie Boyle's Autopsy and Frankie Boyle's New World Order, discussing urgent topical and political issues. She has also performed a half-hour stand-up set on the live stand-up comedy show Live From The BBC.

She published her first book, Animal: The Autobiography Of A Female Body, in April 2016, and began her UK tour of the show Animal. Both book and stand-up show are known for being unabashedly feminist and politically-engaged, detailing some highly personal life events and describing in great detail the various struggles she had to face to reach her current position.

From 2013 to 2016, it was widely publicised that Pascoe was dating fellow comedian John Robins. The aftermath of that relationship formed the basis of her 2017 show LadsLadsLads, which toured the UK the following year and was shown on BBC Two after being recorded at the London Palladium, in April 2019.

In 2019 she began hosting a new comedy show on Dave entitled Comedians Giving Lectures. A fresh take on the genre, it invites a range of stand-ups to deliver their own amusing 'lectures' or talks using the titles of real TED talks and other genuine lectures - but with a comedic twist!

In 2019 it was also announced that Pascoe would be making her own sitcom, focusing on human sex and relationships, including factual insights.

A regular on such TV shows such as QI and Taskmaster, and radio programmes The Unbelievable Truth, Pascoe is known for creating a warm, feel-good atmosphere in her gigs.
