Russell Brand rummages in a bin with homeless man
He's always been a friend to the many homeless people he meets on his travels. And apparently no task is too much for Russell Brand when he is attempting to brighten the day of the less fortunate. The comedian was spotted in West Hollywood on Thursday, stopping to speak to some men on the street.

Russell Brand's American series Brand X has been picked up for 13 more episodes by FX.
Morgan Jeffery, Digital Spy, 27th November 2012I'm a bit torn over which is my favourite of the newer characters at BBC2's Harry & Paul. The Fifties East End typing-pool girls played in drag by Paul Whitehouse and Kevin Eldon have to be right up there, mainly because they sound like Russell Brand at his most annoyingly mockney.
But I also enjoy the 'When Life Was Simpler' films from the Fifties. The latest one featured a man being made Director-General of the BBC despite having no experience of or interest in television. Honestly. As if that would ever happen.

Lucy Cave, Digital Spy, 18th October 2012When Channel 4's Big Fat Quiz idea first arrived in 2004 it was a clever way to take list and nostalgia shows forward. But by the time last Sunday's Big Fat Quiz Of The 00s came around it was already falling foul of the law of diminishing returns. (Not to be confused with the law of diminishing tax returns, which is something you'd have to ask Jimmy Carr about).
It didn't help that Noel Fielding decided to reprise his trick of offering a wacky left-field answer instead of the correct one. It was quite funny when he first did it back in 2007 alongside Russell Brand, but here it was just irritating, and merely served to highlight how much Fielding has lost his way since the demise of The Mighty Boosh.
His mojo will no doubt return one day. But it's probably time to ditch the donkey-ears hat. It's not a good look. Particularly when you're behaving like an ass.
