The Pranker's top 5 characters
We're now more than midway into the series and I thought I'd share with you some of my own photos and my highlights from The Pranker.
Ross Lee, BBC, 4th August 2011Ross Lee confusion over man talking to his girlfriend
Furious comic Ross Lee told a fella he spotted chatting to his girlfriend to "f*** off" - not realising it was Hollywood actor Johnny Depp.
The Sun, 18th July 2011Pranker falls wrong after Ross Lee forgot about allergy
The joke was on funnyman Ross Lee when he filmed new BBC3 show The Pranker - after he forgot about his dog fur allergy.
The Sun, 16th July 2011To star in hidden camera stunts, a comedian has to be completely unrecognizable. So from that standpoint at least Ross Lee is perfectly qualified.
He started out doing kids shows for CBBC and Nickelodeon. He must be hoping this will take off because, after the kind of rude skits he's taking part in tonight, there'll be no going back to children's TV for him if this flops.
It's very much in the mould of Balls of Steel - another series he has featured in - with Lee dressing up as plumbers, old ladies, the boyfriend from hell and in one of the best sketches a flat-hunter with psychic powers.
It's uncomfortable to watch - the combination of Lee's squeaky Yorkshire accent and his painfully thin body are disturbing enough on their own. And one of his stooges, Holly, who was subjected to the blind date from hell, deserves a medal for lasting as long as she did.
Jane Simon, The Mirror, 14th July 2011Meet The Pranker... aka Slaphead
Meet Ross Lee, aka The Pranker, BBC Three's new hidden cam scam artist...
Ross Lee, BBC Comedy, 13th July 2011There's little new in playing pranks on the public and there's little original in Ross Lee's hidden camera comedy. Lee derives his eccentric laughs from making people look silly as he appears in his various guises. Only rarely does he score points - though he does tonight with a sketch about a psychic house-hunter.
