With more than 100 stand-up comedy performances to his credit, he's currently building a solid reputation and putting the stage time into attain a level of ease and excellence that all great stand-ups have. His comedic style is that of a slightly surreal storyteller and gag line deliverer. Self-effacing, intelligent, yet silly and irreverent. He believes just because you can find the funny in anything, doesn't mean that people need to hear it. There's a time and a place. In other words, timing is everything, which is one of the pillars all good comedy is built on.
An accomplished broadcast live event camera operator, photographer, director and writer he's been a lifelong fan of film and television. It's the ultimate reason he pursued a career in the camera department when starting out. Unlike many in his industry he watches plenty of TV. "US drama and comedy are my passions." Radio is something he's come to embrace as well as podcasts and has put together a couple of podcast hows. "The Looking for A Third Podcast" is a comedy interview show. "The Looking For A Third The Feedback Loop", is a cut down sister version of the main show, and "Rodney Beckford isn't funny..." which is a mini four part series podcast show of stand up material. All these shows feature his co-host and know associate Tanya Chainey.
He's taken his time getting to this point, but not wasted it. With practical and working knowledge of film and documentary making as well as multicamera shooting. Keyed into the needs and wants of creatives, performers and crew. This makes him more than just a writer director, he's ideally placed to create unique, amusing and engaging content that utilises all the tools in his production maker's bag.
