Swede Caroline review
This mockumentary about the heated world of veg growers should be awful - but it's laugh-out-loud funny.
Francesca Steele, i Newspaper, 19th April 2024Swede Caroline review
Although the conspiracy at the heart of this vegetable-based caper isn't as enthralling as it could have been, the joy of this feature comes from watching this ludicrous tale play out.

Kevin Ibbotson-Wight, The Wee Review, 16th April 2024Swede Caroline review
Featuring giant squash, allotment sabotage, sex parties, big country piles, double entendres and a madcap conspiracy centred around a marrow called Ricky, this comedic "mockumentary" is about as brilliantly British as you can get - and it is hilarious.
Laura Stott, The Sun, 11th April 2024Jo Hartley to star in mockumentary film Swede Caroline
Jo Hartley is to star in Swede Caroline, a new British comedy film about competitive giant vegetable growers.
British Comedy Guide, 20th August 2021Young Rebecca is in tears at the prospect of going to school, throwing her uniform and satchel out of her bedroom window. Is she suffering from school phobia brought on by starting "big school" as the so-called experts believe, or is there something deeper at play?
Rebecca and Jeremy Front's charming period piece explores the gulf between childhood fears and adult understanding of them with gentle humour and a great heart, while steering clear of trite nostalgia. Lucy Hutchinson is terrific as the morbid young Rebecca, while Samantha Spiro and Richard Lumsden deliver their usual quality, and Front (hapless MP Nicola Murray in The Thick of It) is commanding as the kindly headmistress who comes to young Rebecca's aid.
