Chortle, 6th February 2018Inside No 9: finale gives us fiendish folk-horror
Placing an age-old horror archetype in a modern-day context, what results is typically clever - and tonally rich.
Mark Butler, i Newspaper, 6th February 2018Inside No 9, Tempting Fate - review
The script was as rigorous as ever, with nothing said or seen without reason.
Gabriel Tate, The Telegraph, 6th February 2018Inside No. 9: Series 4, Episode 6: Tempting Fate review
This episode is truly creepy. The atmosphere is genuinely disturbing. Due to the darkness of the surroundings and huge piles of boxes all over the place, it feels really claustrophobic. Although there are episodes set in much smaller spaces, the whole tone of the show makes you feel that you are trapped, in the same way the characters are trapped by the wishes of the hare.
Ian Wolf, On The Box, 6th February 2018Inside No 9: Tempting Fate preview
After their rather in-jokey satire on TV awards last week (albeit with a twist in the tale), "Tempting Fate" is a return to what this brilliant anthology does so well: mixing underplayed black humour with a compelling tale. Season 4 has been a special triumph even by Inside No 9's normal high standards, and it bows out with a bang.
Steve Bennett, Chortle, 5th February 2018Inside No. 9: Series 4, Episode 6, Tempting Fate review
The current fourth series of Inside No. 9 has probably been the most consistently brilliant series yet, delivering different, distinctive and unforgettable episodes each time. And it goes out in fantastic style this week with an episode that has numerous nods towards the horror genre, not to mention a delicious callback to past Inside No. 9s.
Bruce Dessau, Beyond The Joke, 5th February 2018Inside No 9 series 4 episode 5 review
And The Winner Is ... is simply a good joke, simply told. Yes, there are darker episodes. Yes, there are ones that are more obviously fiendishly clever. But this may well be the one you keep returning to, re-watching for the sheer hell of it. 'Can't wait to see what you do next,' says Woolgar's reviewer at one point.
Andrew Allen, Cult Box, 31st January 2018Review: Inside No. 9 - And The Winner Is...
And the Winner is... wasn't the best episode of Inside No. 9, and easily the worst of this excellent fourth series, but there were still amusing lines and a twist ending that somehow managed to eluded me.
Dan's Media Digest, 31st January 2018Review: Inside No. 9 - And The Winner Is...
Despite the high regard that many hold it in, Inside No. 9 remains to be something of an underrated gem on our screens.
