How Red Dwarf became classic comedy, wobbly sets & all
The classic sitcom has been enjoying a revival of sorts on the BBC: Still Open All Hours, a Keeping Up Appearances prequel, and now even a new series of Porridge (surely a crime in itself). Meanwhile, three million years into deep space - or as it's better known, the comedy channel Dave - Red Dwarf is re-launching for its 12th series. Peter Davidson, Aberdeen Evening Gazette, 9th October 2017TV review: Red Dwarf XII, Dave
There are some lovely moments from writer Doug Naylor here as the plot pans out and things are not quite what they seem. Some of the gags are a bit obvious - you can see a Rupert Murdoch swipe light years off - but other touches are neat and imaginative, particularly when the crew get into a sticky patch and are confronted by their own worst fears.
