Adrian Lobb, The Big Issue, 4th August 2015Phill Jupitus is Porky the Poet review
Stalwart of BBC television and radio panel games, Phill Jupitus, like many of his comedy peers, wasn't quite so mainstream when starting out in the mid 1980s.
Jo Beggs, The Public Reviews, 7th July 2015Sandi Toksvig bid The News Quiz (Radio 4, Friday) farewell this week. She had been with the show for nine years, 28 seasons and 222 episodes, which is a good innings by anyone's account. Dressed in tuxedos, her panel - Jeremy Hardy, Francis Wheen, Andy Hamilton, Phill Jupitus - looked like something from the early days of BBC Radio, and put in a relatively subdued performance. Like them, I'll miss her laugh, her ability to poke fun at herself, her infectious good nature. But I'm also intrigued to see whether Miles Jupp, named as her successor in this week's announcement, can breathe new life into a series that has become rather cosy and unsurprising of late.

Damien Gayle, Mail on Sunday, 1st February 2015Radio Times review
Although it manages to keep the smutty/lavatorial humour to a minimum, Jack Whitehall's exuberant reaction to solving an Only Connect puzzle makes Stephen Fry smile. "You've made a happy man very old," he sighs.
Several clips in this compilation of QI highlights have an ocular theme: Phill Jupitus tries on night vision glasses, Alan Davies a peripheral vision aid and Josh Widdecombe "railway spectacles", while Jo Brand reckons her bonnet with a monocle probably belonged to an elderly Dickensian prostitute. Plus there are some terrific "liquid larks" and scientific tricks. The one involving stroking a fake hand gets Sara Pascoe very excited indeed.
