TV preview: Peter Kay's Car Share - BBC One
Northern wag's new project is like The Royle Family in a motor.
Brian Donaldson, The List, 20th April 2015The BBC has taken the slightly odd decision to premiere this new Peter Kay sitcom on the iPlayer before its eventual transfer to BBC1. The concept is simple: Kay's John and his colleague Kayleigh have been paired up as part of their company's travel buddy scheme. What sparks will fly? It's best at its most humdrum: the idea of a woman squirting urine all over her driver on the first day is a stretch but as the relationship begins to breathe, a more sweetly naturalistic atmosphere develops. Worth sticking with, although it's hard to avoid the blatantly looming romantic subtext.

Alfred Hickling, The Guardian, 5th February 2015Review: Peter Kay's Phoenix Nights, Manchester Arena
Due to unfortunate circumstances I am unable to give a star rating to this show; 15 minutes into the second half a cast member collapsed on stage and the performance was cancelled. At the time of posting Ted Robbins, in a stable condition, and we wish him a speedy recovery. I can of course write about what I did see, and much of it was great fun.
