Graham Norton to host ITV's Wheel Of Fortune
- Graham Norton will host a new series of the game show Wheel Of Fortune on ITV in 2024
- He says: "I'm beyond excited to be bringing such an iconic American show to a new British audience"
Graham Norton has been announced as the host of ITV's new version of Wheel Of Fortune.
The game show, in which players aim to solve word puzzles by spinning a wheel, is set to broadcast on ITV1 and ITVX in 2024. There will be six regular episodes and two celebrity specials.
The format, based on the American show launched in 1975, has previously run in the UK between 1988 and 2001, with hosts Nicky Campbell, Bradley Walsh, John Leslie and Paul Hendy.
Norton says: "I'm beyond excited to be bringing such an iconic American show to a new British audience. My first ever TV job was a game show on ITV so this feels like coming full circle. You might even call it a wheel!"
ITV commissioner Katie Rawcliffe says: "We are thrilled to have the much loved Graham Norton bringing this iconic game show to our viewers. Anything can happen on the spin of a wheel, it is going to be so much fun."
Wheel Of Fortune has run continuously in America since 1975 with Pat Sajak as co-host. Just this week it has been announced that Sajak is retiring, with Ryan Seacrest set to take over.
Wheel Of Fortune is one of a number of US game shows being rebooted in the UK. Stephen Fry is to host a new series of Jeopardy! whilst Alan Carr and Daisy May Cooper will front Password.
