Stephen Fry receives special Rose d'Or Award

Stephen Fry has been honoured with a lifetime achievement award for his outstanding contribution to the entertainment industry at the international Rose d'Or Awards 2015.
Speaking on the topic of programme-making after receiving the award, the comedy star and broadcaster noted: "The real truth about broadcasting is that it's about making the best programmes and those are to do with individuals, characters and emotions."
Underlining how the entertainment industry is about people and stories, he went on to note that "it's not technology that tells stories, it's human beings".
Organised by the European Broadcasting Union, the Rose d'Or Awards - also known as the Golden Rose Awards - are a highly prestigious set of international television and radio prizes.
Fry will be the subject of a major documentary on TV this festive season. A Life On Screen - Stephen Fry, due to be broadcast on Tuesday 29th December, will see the star telling the story behind his success.
Aside from Fry's win, a number of British comedies also triumphed in the programme categories at this year's Golden Rose awards:
Comedy
Sky Arts sketch show Psychobitches beat Reece Shearsmith and Steve Pemberton's Inside No. 9 and BBC Three's satirical prank show The Revolution Will Be Televised in the comedy category.
Sitcom
Catastrophe - the Channel 4 sitcom written by and starring Sharon Horgan and Rob Delaney - beat Belgium's Safety First, and US sitcom Workaholics in the TV Sitcom category.
Entertainment
The Graham Norton Show took the Entertainment prize ahead of Germany's Friendly Fire and Swedish production The Museum.
Radio Comedy
Radio 4 Extra's satirical sketch show Newsjack triumphed in this category. The format, hosted by Nish Kumar, is a programme that anyone can write for. The Infinite Monkey Cage and Kevin Eldon Will See You Now were the other comedies in this category.
Radio Talk Show
The Infinite Monkey Cage - the science show with a comedic edge, hosted by Prof Brian Cox and Robin Ince - beat Chain Reaction and Woman's Hour in the Talk Show category.
