Remember those cheeky Revolut ads from the summer? The poster campaign that said: "The salary wants out of old banks" and the TV spot with comedian Munya Chawawa trying to pitch his film script in a restaurant, only to find everyone there just wanted to talk about how great online bank Revolut was?

Well, no one's laughing now. Last week the BBC's Panorama found that Revolut was named in more reports of fraud in the last financial year than any of the major high street banks.

Chawawa's ad saying that Revolut "has 24/7 transaction monitoring" now looks a bit silly; likewise, the posters' claim that "the salary wants out of old banks". What "the salary" doesn't want, presumably, is to wind up in a new bank, only to be funnelled out of its rightful owner's Revolut account by fraudsters.

PS - In matters entirely unconnected, Revolut has still not been granted full status as a bank in the UK by the FCA.
