In 2001, 31-year-old Stuart Lubbock's body was found by the side of Michael Barrymore's swimming pool. In 2017 it was reported that Michael Barrymore was suing Essex Police, claiming that his arrest over Stuart Lubbock's death destroyed his career.

Terry Lubbock, 76, from Harlow, Essex, revealed earlier this year that he had been diagnosed with terminal cancer. He had campaigned for justice for Stuart, 31, who was found in the TV presenter's pool in Roydon, near Harlow, in March 2001.
