Melinda Hughes is an opera singer, satirical cabaret artist and comedian. She toured Europe for three years as the soloist with the André Rieu Strauss Orchestra then went on to sing more than twenty operatic roles around Europe and the US.
IN 2007 she formed a comedy duo with composer & comedian Jeremy Limb. She has released two albums specialising in Weimar Cabaret & musical satire, often performing on BBC Radio 3 InTune.
Melinda also worked with the late Barry Humphries on a BBC Radio 4 radio programme about Weimar Cabaret. She has done five full Edinburgh seasons with her own show (Assembly Rooms) and regularly performs at Crazy Coqs, Zedel in London as well as comedy clubs such as Live next to the Apollo and A whole lotta Comedy..
Melinda was part of the 100 Hearts line up at The Adelphi and has worked with Rory Bremner and Rachel Parris. She is currently developing a radio series with comedy writer Kevin day featuring her alter-ego Clemenzia von Trunksale, an operatic Diva with tenuous Royal connections.
