Not quite sure who struggling artists think they're kidding when they write the 'about me' section on their website in the third person. We know it's you, mate. You've got two credits to your name, you're nowhere near the stage where you'd be paying somebody to write about you... but if you are, I am looking for writing gigs...
I studied 'Comedy: Writing & Performance' at Southampton Solent University (Yep, it's an actual degree) before taking a hiatus from writing and doing a 180 turn (Yep, that was the actual degree) by entering the world of set building for films.
Sure, it was fun for a while. Sharing corridors with a permanently disgruntled Christopher Nolan, skipping work to sneak into the production offices to pose with awards which were not mine (might explain the earlier disgruntlement actually) - life was fun on the films. But it was whilst making a little box that Tom Cruise would stand on to appear taller in a scene in Mission Impossible 5, that I decided to take a risk, stand tall (without said box) and leave the TV & film industry to follow my dream! ...My dream of breaking into the TV & film industry! (Through my writing credentials, not set and prop building.)
This year I'll be writing further sitcom pilots, giving the podcast industry a much needed podcast hosted by a comedian, and continue telling the Student Loans Company that I perished in an avalanche incident in 2015...
I must say I really enjoyed your work. You had loads of really funny ideas and cool concepts flying around.
Robert Popper (Creator of Friday Night Dinner), 2019
A great example of what can be done with zero budget. The overall comedy and pacing were strong and included a number of funny and clever comic beats.
Allen Glazier (Writer of The Simpsons), 2019
I think The Story of the Mimers is very funny! This should be shown to Channel 4 and the BBC
Trevor Lock (Stand Up Comedian), 2019
'Claire' is really good. It's a great calling card and you should keep sending it out.
Matt Morgan (The writer, not the wrestler), 2019
Your work is really funny and extremely impressive given you don't have a huge budget. There were many funny bits in this and I laughed several times. Great work!
