Late Night Gimp Fight review - death, deviance and smut

The troupe return with gags about Tindr, Trump and kidnapping. But can you still sell puerile shock-comedy when you're middle-aged?

Bian Logan, The Guardian, 1st January 2018

If you've ever switched over to Comedy Central, chances are you would have landed on either an episode of Friends or Impractical Jokers, the show where four comedians and lifelong friends compete to embarrass each other out amongst the general public with a series of hilarious and outrageous dares. Now the show is getting a UK version, but not for the first time. Back in 2012, BBC Three launched Impractical Jokers with a cast made up of Paul McCaffrey, Joel Dommett, Marek Larwood, and Roisin Conaty. The show was an instant hit, ran for 12 episodes across two series and last year it was announced that Channel 5 were making an all-new series of Impractical Jokers UK with a whole new cast; Lee Griffiths, Matt Ralph, Paul Biggin, and David Moon - otherwise known as comedy group Late Night Gimp Fight. Based on the hit US series, Impractical Jokers UK sees four best friends compete in a series of challenges, turning everyday situations into outrageously funny and embarrassing tests by breaking all the rules of British politeness. Time will tell if it will live up to the US version, or even the first Impractical Jokers.

Leicester Square Theatre Sketch-Off review

Something of a strange evening down in the Leicester Square Theatre, which has added to its New and Old comedian competitions this test of the up-and-comers on the UK's sketch scene. We know all about Cardinal Burns, The Pin, Massive Dad, Sheeps, Minor Delays et al, but is there strength in depth?
