Maurice Cole, better known by his stage name of Kenny Everett, was an English comic, presenter and DJ who found fame on pirate radio in the 1960s before making a very popular transfer to commercial and public broadcasters. His anarchic, inventive style broke many boundaries, pushing the technology of the day and was successfully adapted to television sketch comedy in the 1970s and 80s, often utilising similar boundary-breaking visual effects.
