Radio Times review
"Aw Daaad," whines Jack Whitehall, as his old man pelts him with saucy anecdotes in this loosely themed Father's Day special. Between the Timothy Lumsden moments, Jack gets an interviewing masterclass from an on-form Jonathan Ross and shares a "Mrs Robinson moment" with Judy (Andy's mum) Murray.
The quality of the gags tails off badly in the second half, but there's a fun visit to BBC Three's The Call Centre, where Whitehall Senior's bluntness comes in handy on the phones. "I'm ringing about how you could save money on your electricity bill. Although the amount involved seems so ludicrously small, I don't know why one's bothering," he remarks. Give that man a job.

Digital Spy, 13th March 2014Does the world really need another chat show? Decide for yourself as irrepressibly perky comedian Michael McIntyre tries to remind himself to shut up long enough to let his guests get a word in edgeways. Graham Norton, Alan Carr and Jonathan Ross will scarcely be quaking in their boots at McIntyre's opening guest list: Lily Allen, Lord Alan Sugar and Sir Terry Wogan can all be relied on for a jolly anecdote but it's a pretty safe choice for an opening gambit. McIntyre will need something a little edgier if he's going to stand out in a crowded marketplace.
Carol Carter and Larushka Ivan-Zadeh, Metro, 10th March 2014It really is time people stopped hating Jonathan Ross
Jonathan Ross has withdrawn from hosting the Hugo SF awards and his wife has quit Twitter following a backlash on social media. Can't we give the guy a break, asks Michael Hogan.

BBC News, 19th February 2014Radio Times review
Will James Corden ever live down the moment he was forced to cut Adele off mid-acceptance speech during the Brit Awards in 2012? And, with Corden's last appearance as host of the music extravaganza just days away, will Jonathan Ross be able to refrain from mentioning it?
We'll find out tonight as the star of The Wrong Mans and Gavin & Stacey takes his turn to be interviewed, along with the perennially glamorous actress Uma Thurman and Strictly Come Dancing winner Abbey Clancey.
Jane Rackham, Radio Times, 15th February 2014Radio Times review
After some necessary spadework last week to set up the new series, now creator/star Ruth Jones pens one of the show's funniest ever episodes. Every scene brims with jokes, malapropisms ("Your dad is as strong as an egg!"), hilarious images and fruity phrasing. Aunty Brenda is in particularly searing form, struggling with her hippy daughter ("Me and 'er father split up when she was ten - she's been a road accident ever since"), questioning the integrity of the scales at Blubber Busters, and holding tense, tough negotiations with Dai about the launch of their new coach-hire company. Dai Davies, not Dai Cosh.
There's new blood, too: Sherlock star Yasmine Akram joins the cast as Jagadeesh and Tanisha's plain-speaking niece, while Jonathan Ross appears as himself in one of Stella's HRT-fuelled sex dreams.
