So, this Sunday, I am going to a new monthly LGBT comedy night - Queer As Jokes - at Angel Comedy's Bill Murray venue in London. The evening is being organised by Simon Caine, who runs the comedy industry Facebook group The Comedy Collective and the interview-based Ask The Industry Podcast.

Simon Jay on the inauguration of the OTHER Donald Trump

For about nine months, Simon Jay has been getting noticed for his one-man show Trumpageddon in which he riffs as the esteemed President Elect, who gets inaugurated this Friday. "Are you doing anything to celebrate?" I asked Simon via Skype this morning. "I'm going to go on Facebook Live," he told me, "and, at 5.00pm (UK time), as you watch the inauguration on TV, you'll be able to hear his thoughts streamed via Facebook Live - as voiced by me."

To round off this sad story tale, coincidental confirmation came from comic Sinead Wheeler.

How I helped create fake US comic Lewis Schaffer

Brian Simpson, the English character comedian who performs as American comic Lewis Schaffer, was a massive fan of Tiswas, the slapstick children's TV show I used to work on. He was born and bred in Brownhills.

Janey Godley is accused of having a secret life

My comic chum Janey Godley, whose latest London show was the subtly-titled Donald Trump Is A Cunt, has already incurred the Orange wrath of deranged Rangers fans. Now she tells me that - before one of her recent shows in Paisley - a man was handing out sheets of paper to members of her audience.
