Brian Donaldson, The List, 17th July 2019Interview with Jena Friedman
"Politics wasn't really something Americans cared about prior to 2016, whereas now people really do care and for good reason, it just doesn't make them laugh."
Tom Inniss, Voice Magazine, 13th July 2019Review: Jena Friedman, Soho Theatre
Jena Friedman has been doing some of this material in her club sets for a while, and the show itself debuted at last year's Edinburgh Fringe, so it was surprising that she referred to a crib sheet on the night I saw it.
Veronica Lee, The Arts Desk, 24th March 2016Live review: Jena Friedman, Soho Theatre
Jena Friedman certainly looks like she has plenty of attitude in her surly press shots. And calling her show American C*nt - even with an asterisk - is quite audacious. Onstage, however, she is less in your face. There are only flashes where she justifies her own build-up.
Bruce Dessau, Beyond The Joke, 24th March 20165 Fringe shows coming to Glasgow Comedy Festival
A chance to catch up on some of last year's best acts.
Murray Robertson, The List, 8th March 2016This week's best Edinbugh comedy
Previews of James Acaster, Kieran Hodgson, and Jena Friedman.
James Kettle, The Guardian, 14th August 2015Interview: Jena Friedman - American C*nt
'No one is stealing my abortion jokes'
Brian Donaldson, The List, 14th July 2015Interview: Jena Friedman
With over 3,000 shows during the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, it can be hard for performers to come up with a name that stands out. Jena Friedman has managed to find one that's both cutting and patriotic. Friedman is currently a producer for The Daily Show with John Stewart and has also written for The Late Show with David Letterman. Come see Friedman in her Edinburgh Festival Fringe initiation for a handful of dick jokes and a raid on the US body politic with American C*nt. It's about to get real.
