Jasper Carrott OBE is an English comedian, musician and actor who rose to fame in the 1970s as a folk singer whose jokes and banter with the audience gradually overtook his act. He starred in various of his own sketch and stand-up series during the late 1970s and 1980s - such as Carrott's Lib - plus 1990s sitcom The Detectives.
