Isy Suttie wants EastEnders role
Peep Show star Isy Suttie would love to be cast in EastEnders as a killer knitter - and is hoping her Damned co-star Himesh Patel can put in a good word for her with the soap's bosses.
Female First, 21st March 2018I tak to: Isy Suttie
Here's what Isy had to say about working with Jo Brand, her character's backstory and why a good atmosphere on set makes all the difference.
Elliot Gonzalez, I Talk Telly, 21st February 2018TV review, Damned, C4
Are sexual abuse and sex trafficking suitable subjects for comedy? My gut instinct would say no but the first episode of the second series of social worker comedy Damned somehow managed to incorporate these subjects and make serious points along with succesful jokes. The writers - Jo Brand, Morwenna Banks and Will Smith - and the cast - deserve full credit for going where few programmes fear to tread. Imagine Ken Loach collaborating with Ricky Gervais.
Bruce Dessau, Beyond The Joke, 15th February 2018Damned: this gentle comedy is a rare gem
Damned is a rare achievement: noble in his depiction of human weakness, soaringly ambitious while trapped in humdrum surroundings, and deeply empathic in prising laughs from desperate circumstances.
Gabriel Tate, The Telegraph, 14th February 2018TV preview, Damned
Human degradation was never so funny.

British Comedy Guide, 16th February 2017Brian Logan's top 10 comedy of 2016
Mr Swallow camped it up as Houdini, Isy Suttie looked for Mr Right, while Brexit brought out the angry best in Bridget Christie and Stewart Lee. Our critic picks the year's best [live] comedy.
Brian Logan, The Guardian, 13th December 2016Jo Brand co-writes and stars in this downbeat but lovely social workers comedy. The third episode sees Al (Alan Davies) being sent to help a gay couple who are being hassled by locals, and Nitin (Himesh Patel) managing to get stuck in an air vent while trying to handle a hostage situation. The subject matter allows the scattering of some very real-world grit in among the frequent laughs, with Isy Suttie's jarring temp a particular highlight.
Grace Rahman, The Guardian, 11th October 2016TV review Damned, Channel 4
A very funny show, thanks to bravura performances from Jo Brand, Himesh Patel, Kevin Eldon and Isy Suttie.
