Henry is an actor and writer based in Uppingham, Rutland. Having done a great deal of acting and directing at university, he subsequently applied to drama school. Although he was accepted at East 15, he felt that it would be more beneficial to developing as both a writer and an actor if he wrote and took a principal part in his own play. So in February 2016 he acted in 'Beyond The Pail: A Plotless Play of Puns and Pottiness', a one-act play that he wrote for the Leicester Comedy Festival. Following the festival, he was taken on as an actor and writer by Robert Wilkinson at Red Talent Management.

Since then he has put on two comedy shows in London and acted in most of the pieces; released online a Brexit-themed comic song parody of 'I Will Survive'; made his live radio debut with the song on talkRADIO's 'James Whale Breaks The News', leading to appearances on BBC Radio Nottingham and BBC Radio Derby; launched a personal website at www.henrydawe.co.uk; and had two books of comedy writing published - 'Play on Words', a six-part series intended for the radio, and 'Thirty Pieces of Pottiness', a collection of fifteen sketches, ten shorts and five monologues. ('Play on Words' and 'Thirty Pieces of Pottiness' form the basis of his Pitch Centre projects 'Play on Words' and 'The Happy Half Hour'.) He has also contributed to 'All Puns Blazing', a book being published in November 2021 in support of the Leicester Comedy Festival. He has recently completed a new full-length show (a mixture of stand-up comedy and sketches) which he aims to stage when theatres have cleared the backlog of productions that have accumulated in the pandemic.

In May 2021 he released on his website a charity music video celebrating the life of the late Duke of Edinburgh and raising funds in aid of The Silver Line helpline for older people, in light of the difficulties faced in the pandemic. The Founder and President of The Silver Line, Dame Esther Rantzen, has also read and expressed her support for his proposed radio play 'The Autumn of my Years', which explores the friendship between an elderly lady and a young man. Dame Esther is behind Henry in wanting to have the play broadcast as a way of drawing attention to the themes of her organisation's mission. With part of the play being set in Derbyshire, BBC Radio Derby have shown an interest in broadcasting it, and Henry is now taking things further with them.

Henry is a Performing Member of The Club for Acts and Actors, London.
