Jon Richardson: Take My Mother-In-Law is a Channel 4 pilot in which the comedian and his mother-in-law, playwright Gill Adams, travel around Spain as she contemplates uprooting her life from England.
British Comedy Guide, 26th July 2022Gill Adams' Big Pies, which charted the romantic convergence of two losers in life and love (George Costigan and Katy Wix), was very funny. Underpinning the jolly rumbustiousness of her witty dialogue and Beryl Cook-style creations (apart from Steffan Rhodri's cameo as a grumpy pensioner) was a moving melancholia.
