Richard O'Sullivan: That Man About The House
By Gary Wharton

Richard O'Sullivan is instantly remembered as that cheeky fella with the crooked grin and sparkle in his eye, sharing a flat with 2 girls in the classic 1970s sitcom Man About The House. Whilst others might remember seeing him galloping to success as TV's Dick Turpin or perhaps as part of Cliff Richard's gang in those frothy 1960s British flicks. His acting CV has encompassed so much since his start as a boy actor. Predominantly known for his TV roles, guest appearances came via Danger Man, the Doctor comedies and in films such as Cleopatra and Carry On Teacher.

He has acted alongside a diverse range of terrific acting talent including Boris Karloff, Errol Flynn, Trevor Howard, Patrick McGoohan, Elizabeth Taylor, and such comedy greats as Beryl Reid, the Two Ronnies Corbett & Barker, and a great many others.

An illustrated career retrospective with a difference, That Man About The House takes a detailed look at his work for the first time. Uniquely providing a detailed breakdown for each role, this book is all you will need as the author documents his career for you, but hopefully it may encourage you to seek out some more of the projects mentioned. It proves a fine tribute to a fondly-remembered telly and film face.
