James Acaster is releasing the first single from his new music album.

The comic has announced that the track no, no by Temps, an "international music collective" he created in his flat over lockdown comprised of himself and "39 bona fide genii" musicians, is launching tomorrow and will be accompanied by a music video shot by his regular collaborators Turtle Canyon (James Acaster's Sweet Home Ketteringa).

no, no features the acts Quelle Chris, Xenia Rubinos, NNAMDÏ, Shamir, John Dieterich, Joana Gomila, Laia Vallès and Seb Rochford.

Acaster, who hosts the Perfect Sounds podcast, showcasing music from 2016, and who played drums in the bands The Wow! Scenario and the Capri-Sun Quartet before finding fame as a stand-up, has also returned to social media to promote it, just a few months after publishing the book James Acaster's Guide To Quitting Social Media.

Yesterday he posted a brief teaser clip of the track, featuring himself in his Party Gator costume.

Based on an outsize childhood soft toy he gave away in lockdown, the comic shared the origins of the costume on Josh Widdicombe's XFM radio show in 2015 and gave an update on The Jonathan Ross Show last year.

The single is being released to coincide with the Kickstarter crowdfunding drive for his spoof true crime podcast Springleaf, based upon his undercover cop alter-ego.

Acaster and Guz Khan have also made The Unofficial Science Of Home Alone for Sky Max, expected to air soon, in which the pair recreate the home defences featured in the hit 1990 Macaulay Culkin film, as first revealed by British Comedy Guide in March.
