Jack Dee says he was "thrilled and delighted" to be asked to appear on World's Most Dangerous Roads, "until I found out where I was being sent and who I'd be going with".

The veteran stand-up was paired with younger comic Jake Lambert on the trip to the Central Asian state of Kyrgyzstan. And for his part, Lambert said: "Telling people I went on a road trip in Kyrgyzstan with Jack Dee sounds more like I'm describing a fever dream I had rather than an actual real life experience."

Also teaming up for the third series of the driving show's revival on U&Dave are Ellie Taylor and The Last Leg star Alex Brooker, who visited the Indonesian island of Java.

"I sweat when faced with a mini-roundabout in suburban Essex so I had no idea how I'd cope with driving a strange car in rural Indonesia" said Taylor. "But turns out, when you face the fear and do it anyway, you can have an incredible adventure and laugh more than you ever imagined, even when risking death by moped at every turn.

"I loved the trip and I'm so glad Alex and I did it together. If you do ever find yourself in a jungle and in need of a co-driver to scale a volcano, he comes highly recommended."

Brooker added: "I had such an incredible time doing the show. I've always been quite a stressful driver so it wasn't great for that! But I think I became a better driver for it! It was such an amazing experience visiting and driving through Java, taking in the incredible views, trying new things and trying to see a volcano.

"But best of all was getting to laugh with Ellie everyday in that car. I couldn't have wished for a better person to do the trip with."

The two episodes will air soon, alongside Rhod Gilbert, who has visited both Nepal and Italy in the course of the BBC's original three series and the U&Dave revival from 2023, narrating a second compilation episode of the show's best moments, in World's Most Dangerous Roads: Rhod Gilbert's Extra Mile.

The new episodes were shot last summer, alongside those that aired last year, which featured Johnny Vegas and Lucy Beaumont driving through Montenegro and Kae Kurd and Babatunde Aléshé traversing Zambia.

World's Most Dangerous Roads is executive produced by Sandy Watson for Ricochet (The Data Doctor). It was commissioned for UKTV by Helen Nightingale, head of factual and factual entertainment, and ordered for U&Dave by Cherie Hall, channel director, and Hilary Rosen, director of commissioning.
