Ricky Gervais sets French record

Ricky Gervais set an attendance record at the weekend for the biggest English-speaking comedy show in France.
His show at the Paris Accor Arena on Saturday (8th March), one of a number of arena shows booked on his current global Mortality tour, had a paid attendance of 12,179 people.
Of the new French record, Gervais said: "I still can't believe I sell out arenas in my own country, let alone around the world. I'm over the moon, as we say in England."
The comedian has large shows still to come this year in Dublin (Republic of Ireland), Vienna (Austria), Oslo (Norway), Zurich (Switzerland), Amsterdam (Netherlands), Berlin (Germany), Copenhagen (Denmark), Stockholm (Sweden) and Prague (Czech Republic). He will also be heading Stateside, with a return to LA's Hollywood Bowl, NYC's Radio City Music Hall, and two arenas in Canada.
Gervais will also hit London again in October and November, with 14 sold-out nights at the Palladium and 3 dates at the OVO Arena Wembley booked in.
