Jayde Adams' stiletto stomp on Rhys Ifans' desires
Jayde Adams makes her first appearance on Strictly Come Dancing tomorrow night, hoping to dazzle the judging panel and millions of television viewers at home.
However, the stand-up has been recalling a time when her fancy footwork allegedly made a deep impression on film star Rhys Ifans, when she was a backing dancer for Welsh comedy hip-hop group Goldie Lookin Chain.
Just not as deep as the Notting Hill and House Of The Dragon actor was hoping for.
"We were called The Goldie Lookin Ladies" she told US comedian Josh Denny on his The Darkest Hour podcast last year. "We were doing a gig once and I was absolutely annihilating it, because I can dance.
"So I'm on stage, I'm smashing it. I do the Caterpillar and fell on my face and had to be patched up by one of the [Goldie] lads, Maggot. He had to patch up my chin.
"But before all of that happened, I get this little person comes down from upstairs, comes all the way down to the stage, says 'um, excuse me Jayde, I need to ask you something ... I'm Rhys Ifans' personal assistant and he's upstairs and he's asked if you want to come up and join him?'
"I was like 'ok, cool, yeah, wicked. I'll be there in a minute'.
"Then he goes: 'Also, he's requested you walk on him in stilettos'.
"I said 'no'" Adams told Denny.
"But I was very charming. I said that 'if he wants me to walk on him in stilettos, he can walk himself down here and get under my feet'.
"'I'm not summoned, fuck off!'"
