Steve Pemberton awarded university fellowship
Inside No. 9 star Steve Pemberton has been given an Honorary Fellowship from the University of Central Lancashire.
Based in Preston, it is the closest university to Chorley, where the comedy star grew up. He said he was "really proud to be coming back home".
On taking to the stage, he referenced The League Of Gentlemen, joking: "The University of Central Lancashire is a local university for local people..."
He also offered some wisdom to students, saying: 'One of the best pieces of advice I was given was think of it as a marathon not a sprint. Don't worry, especially in the arts, if you're not making it straight away. You're going to have a long career ahead of you. Some people will spend longer setting the bedrock of their career and other people will be successful early on, but you've got to have resilience."
Inside No. 9 finished on TV this year, however Pemberton and Reece Shearsmith are now preparing for Stage/Fright, the Inside No. 9 stage show which will launch in London in January.
